Wink Now Watch for the Bull's Horns! (Part 1/4)

Ladies and Gentlemen!
It is time again for one of Mr.C's atempts at an AAR!
Tonight's topic? The Duchy of Moldau!

The Scenario is the:
MEGA-SUPER CAMPAIGN OF DOOM! BWUHAHAHAHAHA!
Or in laymen's terms 1066-1948!

Difficulty will vary throughout the story. Cheating will be prevalent in CK because I've had it for two weeks now. This part of the AAR will take us from 1075 - 1419 after the Duchy of Moldau seperated from the Hungarian Empire.

I will begin the enoumous task tomorrow, after homework and work.... I hope; no promises.

I will also be taking bets on how far I actually get. (Please, the year I will finally give up or be annexed, and the amount of Mr.C Points you are willing to bet). The odds are 50:1 (in favor of me quitting) as of now! Each update will also have updated odds.

Prepare for the AAR of a life time!

The Reign of: György I Árpád (György the Bastard) (1071-1121)

The Reign of:
György I Árpád (György the Bastard)
(1071-1121)

Part 1: Hungarian Rule over Perchshin-land:

In 1066, the boy-king of Hungary invaded the Tribe of Peresechen directly to the east. Added by his older, bastard brother; György. Over the course of 5 years, the Peresechens were eliminated and György was crowned György I of Moldau. Relations between the boy-king and all of his dukes degraded to the breaking point, and the Hungarian kingdom fell apart. Moldau seceded in 1071, and was in the war until 1075, when it gained its independence as well as Torki, but lost its Walachian territory.

Part 2: Castilian Counts

Moldau was originally seperated into three sections; The Duchy of Moldau, The Peresechen County and Torki. Both of the counties were ruled by Castilian refuges who moved over with György's first wife, who was spanish. The two had no children, and if fuled a pashion for György; keeping Moldau out of Hungarian hands. This ment getting an heir.

Part 3: Hungarian Wars

From is new capital in Belgorod, Burjak; György watched the Hungarian Kingdom fall apart. Though asked by his uncle Gelza of Slovakia to assist his brother, György remained completely neutral. Hungary would remain at war with different rebels until 1119, when Gelza's grandson took the throne in Presburg, though the country hadn't been united.

(Areas in white also seceded after the screen shot was taken)

Part 4: Relative stability

Most of Europe was unstable, on the outside; Moldau was stable on the outside; but the Royal family was having difficulty. György was on his thrid wife (of four) and had a bastard son (Kristöf (who'd later have a son who and be count of Peresechen)) as well as two daughters. Still without an heir, and the thought of the king of Hungary becoming Duke of Moldau (and thus dragging Moldau back into the civil war) drove György into depression. But, on the flip-side, his country was still intact. Both England and France (as a well as a few recvolts in Germany) had fallen into complete civil war, none with any end in site. Belgorod was becoming even more of an economic hub in the Catholic world; becoming known to Europeans as "The Last Catholic City." Moldau was also at peace this whole time, keeping good relations with surrounding nations. At the same time, Pagans won victories in Pskov and northern Sweden; while Muslims took over parts of France and Britany. Many Moldauans called the Duke of Britany the "Emir of Shame." The Kingdom of Leon was all but obliterated, Gallcia was under muslim rule, and Aragon and Castile sat by idly as their neighbors were steamrollered. Moldau had also united entirely under the Christian banner, the whole country had been claimed in the name of god.

Part 5: An Heir

György's third wife died giving birth to what György hoped was his needed heir. Now growing old at the age of 62, an heir for Moldau was a necessity. György married Lidiia of Galich-Mersky, sister of the Prince of Galich, and the two had a single child; the long a-waited heir, on November 16, 1112. He was named Benedek. He'd later be given a Monastic education, with the Templars who had built a head-quaters in Belgorod. György could finally die in peace, whcih he did on September 14, 1121; at the age of 71.

Elsewhere in the world:
France:

The Green in Muslim, the red later seceded and the extra olive-green provence is part of Luxemburg (Germany)

England:

Hampshire also seceded later

Muslims:

-------------------------
This was a relatively boring update, not looking for much under Benedek I....
-------------------------
Odds: 35:1 (in favor of me quitting)

I'd wager some Mr.C Points, but I haven't got any.

I've tried to mod Vic-Hoi, if you plan on only changing provinces around you should be fine. However, with Vic your nation will likely have a much higher industrial score than any other so you would have to mod ever nations industrial score [and probably] the resources and manpower.

Not impossible but takes patience, then again so does playing from CK-HOI

Good luck on your quest Mr C! I really find it difficult to keep up with who's who and what's the player's domain and what's not in CK AARS, but as soon as you've done the EU2 conversion I'll catch up

Are you planning on WC at the end of 1948?

Thanks to everyone for your support! It has been hard juggling School, work and WH40K along with a 900 year campaign to take over the world; but it is all worth it!
Current odds, you might ask? 10:1 in favour of me quitting!

Now for the next installment of the AAR:

The Reign of:
Benedek I Árpád (Benedek the Great)
(1121-1201)

Part 1: Expansion

Benedek made it his goal to consolidate Moldavian superiority in the region. Several major powers had a strong precence in the three-rivers region of Moldavia. Those powers included Byzantinum, the Hungarian nations, the Prince of Galich, the Tribe of Cuman, and the Prince of Kiev. Kiev fell to Cuman early in Benedek's reign, and the Hungarian nations were too busy fighting each other to present much of a problem. Galich fell to the tribe of the Eastern Urals, Cuman was invaded by Moldau's ally Venice, who then took much of Crimea and central Russia. Benedek took the city of Korsun to gain a stepping-stone to Kiev. Benedek gained two vassals, Imre Isotalo and later Tádor Beck. During this time, Byzantium and her ally Croatia were involved in a war with the heathen muslims in Egypt and Iberia. Byzantium gained much of Valencia. On the other hand, Croatia's early victories fell short when Fatmtid invaded and took the entire country. Moldau invaded the Canary Islands after they broke away from Morocco, gaining a strategic base for Western Europe.

Part 2: Christianity at Risk

Castile made a good attempt to regain control of Iberia, retaking much of northern Iberia. France finally drove most of the Arabs out of Frace, but a few rogues remained. Byzantium gained the most land for Christianity, but the Holy Land was still too far away to do much about it.

Part 3: Benedek the Heir Burrier

Benedek lived to be 89, the eldest monarch at the time. He outlived almost all of his children, and some of his grandchildren. The Moldavian people (a deragatory European name for people of Moldau who were a mix of Hungarian, Peresechen, Russian and Cuman. The people of Moldau didn't mind, seeing as they had the only stable country in Europe other than Byzantium) began to call him the "Heir Burrier," after his son Móric (count of Kiev) died. Móric's son, Agoston, would later become Grand Duke.

Part 4: Twin Duchy

The title "the Great" was added to Benedek after he became Duke of both Moldau and Kiev. His victory over the pagans in Russia was sent across Catholic Europe. The Great Orthodox city (Kiev) was now in Catholic hands. Benedek also dubbed himself the "Grand Duke of Moldau-Kiev." The title was hardly recognized outside of Moldau, and other European rules continued to call him "The Duke of the Moldavians."

Part 5: Moldavian Civil War

The Castilian Counts of Birlad and Torki were loosing favour with the Moldavian crown. Shortly after the annexation of Kiev and the proclamation of a Dual-Duchy, the County of Birlad rebeled, but was quickly crushed by the Capital Guard in Belgorod. In Torki, the last Castilian count died leaving the title to his German son, who quickly affirmed his loyalty to Benedek, whoes army paid a visit to the County after Birlad was re-united with Moldau.

Part 6: A Beautiful City

Belgorod became to Catholisism what Constantinople was to Orthodoxy. With most of Europe under the threat of muslim or pagan invasion, or racked by civil war; few cities had the resources to grow. Since Benedek kept Moldau neutral through most conflicts in Europe and abroad, his capital began to rival Constantinople. [According to my CK/Eu2 converter] The population fo Belgorod was 30,689; to Constantinople's 36,840. Belgorod built it's "large castle" almost twenty years before the Byzantine Emperor broke ground on his. Though not furnished with Theaters and Universities or Palaces like Constantinople, Belgorod was quickly becoming a power center in Europe.

Part 7: Else where in the World

In Scandanavia, only Norway remains of the "Big Three." A Poor heir choice in both Denmark, and then later Sweden, caused the respective country to collapse. The Danish thrown was then taken by a Saxon exile from Scotland, but remained pitifully weak. Sweden was cast into a violent civil war which also overthrew the king and placed a rebel count in control, but the nation remained divided.

In France, the Duchy of Champaign tore itself apart, as did other French Ducal States. Britany invaded Iberia for a second time, and despite early victories lost the campaign to the muslims. France then invaded the muslim nations as hey fought among themselves and regained Britany to christian control. Despite this fact, parts of France remained in Muslim control.

The English king was albe to regain Norfolk, but the other Duchys remained in rebellion. Wales was united under a single thrown and Scotland was subject to a short civil war.

The Papal States "crusaded" through France, regaining some Muslim cities, but little was accomplished.

Byzantium became a blood monarchy with little reaction from the Princes, to celebrate, one of Benedek's sons married the daughter of the Emperor

Not included is the Canary Islands, Light blue is controled, dark blue is claimed

Yes, I know it says 'Canonized' but the trait shows Sainted... I didn't have time to fully photoshop the picture....

Where's the funny?

Or will this be an actually serious AAR?

Also, the Canonized-Sainted mix-up is well-documented.
