Recent history of the Al-Agta Khanate

Hytshtej Khan, son of Unegen Khan, Son of the famed Dsaluu Jambyn slaughter of infidels, Great Khan of the Golden Horde and later Great Khan and founder of the Al-Agta Khanate, son of Ulugh Muhammad the Bagatur of the Golden Horde, the bane of russians, poles, lithuans and greek.

When Dsaluu jambyn fell victim to a mysterious desiese his young family was driven away by lower khans who had lost their might after the refoms which turned the Timurid Empire into a more centralized state. Those men then waged some wars betveen eachother and in the end everyone lost, as always when mongols fight mongols.

The Result was a land with not real rulership, noone to command in a war, noone to find a war to wage. The result was that the Golden Horde had to fight a war on their own, and lost valuable land to the orthodox pigs.

Meanwhile Dsaluu Jambyns family had moved to Beijing, where they lived a luxerous life which was in no way the life of a mongol. Unegen married a few Chinese women and got a son, Hytshtej.

While growing up Hytshtej read alot about his ancestors legendary victories over the infidels in europe. Since Unegen spent more time at Chinese whorehouses then at home Hytshtej had a growing hate for his father and his lifestyle.

When Unegen missed his sons 19th birthday Hytshtej made a oath to never become what is father was, he would honour the ways of his ancestors, the next day Unegen was found dead, his blood had formed the note "This man is not a true mongol, thus he is not my father" Hytshtej was never again seen in Beijing.

About a year later he arrives in the sparsly populated court of the 'Timurid empire' he imidiatly begins to hold loud speaches, the Khans are suprised and soon Hytshtej have managed to gather all of the Khans of the Land to a meeting which will forever be known as Shutger Xural (The Spirit meeting) since people felt that his ancestors spirit was in Hytshtej.

After the meeting, in which no less then 7 rivaling khans had lost duels to this halfbreed the remaining Khans agreed that the Al-Agta Khanate would be reinstalled, and Hytshtej was to be the supreme ruler of it.

The Harem

about Harems
An Harem was the masters private part of a palace. Here only his Family, concubines and enucks was allowed to enter. A Moslem ruler was allowed to have up to 4 wives, but other then that he is allowed to have an unlimited amout of Concubines in his Harem.

The concubines were not allowed to leave the Harem since their lives were owned to their master. Any children a ruler would get with his Concubines would, unlike the christian world, be considered a legit heir. In the Agakhans Harem sevral women also work as Huang Jies Handmaidens, these women are therefore allowed to leace the Harem whenever Huang Jie wishes so.

The Enucks in the Harem were skilled guards, they were sterilized in order to stop them from being tempted by the many beautiful oncubines. The fact that the Enucks lived so close to the Ruler and had no ability to have trubbelsome heirs lead to Rulers often giving their Enucks important tasks in his realm.

I have recieved your messenger and am most pleased to here of the order brought to Iran. We are the two most powerful Mongols in the world and the only representatives of Genghis Khan and The Mongol Empire. This is why we must grow closer. Your concern for my people is most appreciated, but do not worry as The Golden Horde I rule over is the strongest ever due to the unification of my lands in Siberia with my inheritance in The Golden Horde. I hope that we remain close, for nations as important as ours should combine forces rather than rival eachother. Remember this as much is changing in our world and we wil be the ones to lead.

On a pale marchmorning a new Xural have been called by Great Khan Hytshtej. All the powerfull Khans and Bugus have joined but none of them really knows what to expect. When all men have gathered arounda campfire Hytshtej silences all men and begin to speak.

"My good Khans and Bugus, there is sevral important matthers which I desire to discuss with thee all. First and foremost I must know that I can trust you all, and therfore I wish that we all will kneel and, with the allmighty as our vittnes and judge, we all shall swear to dedicate our life to support the mongol cause, my cause."

At these words Azirga Khan and Xoni Khan rise up and speak.

"We cannot pray with these men, we are not of the same faith, we are Shias!"

The Great Khan give the two Khans a bone chilling look then responds with a very rethoric tone

"I said that we all are to pray to Allah, do you not worship the allmighty one just as we? True our ways may differ but the goal is the same. Now, pray!"

The two khans looks convinced and ashamed and begins decides to join the prayer which Agha Bugu leads.

After the Prayer is finished Great Khan Hytshtej once again takes the word:

"There, now that I feel I can trust you I have another important goal to acomplish, as you all surely know the europeans and arabs greatly desire goods from my homeland, China. Almost all these goods are moved on the "silk road" I wish that you all allow me to controll it completly.
SILENCE!
I will use my new power to make new trade agreements, I will enforce higher tarrifs on goods going to the Christians. This will lead to a richer and stronger Al-Agta Khanate and i will use the wealth to fuel a better army. When you send your friends and brothers to combat under your own honourable commandship they will be armed with stronger bows, sharper arrows, lighter armours and perhaps even faster horses!

I will use the gold i gain to create an army capable of fighting legendary wars, to give birth to immortal commanders hopefully even a new Djinghis Khan!

Now all of you who are in favour of an army capable of giving birth to new Bagaturs rise and stand to my right.

All of you who are in favour of trying to extract as much gold for your coffins and harems as you can, rise and stand to my left."

The Khans starts to discuss and the swirling discussion continues for over two hours, all khans but Arslan, who imidiatly stands to the Great Khans right. The Great Khan just stands still and awaits the others decision. In the end the Khans goes over and stand by the side they support.

Uguli Khan (The silk route is is greatest source of income)

"Then i have support of my Khans, I am most happy to see this, I can assure you all that i am glad to see this. From next week I will claim ownership and overlordship of the Silk road. Those of you who disagre may come to the court and adress me personaly.

From now I conclude that this agreement is over, you all may return to your lands."

A letter from Baghdad arrives in Smarkand. It seems to be written in Mongolian, the traditionnal writings. The words are simple, thus it says everything it has to be.

To Hytshtej Khan, proector of the Tamerlane Empire and overlord of the Il-Khanate.

I, Hulegu Khan, want to greet you in your new founctions, I hope that opening your frontiers will be a good thingf for every moslem nations.

With this letter, I want to inform you that Adamak, a strong Mongolian warrior, is on his way to represent my Khanate to his overlord. If you wish to have a presence in Baghdad, please do so, and you Elci will be treated prestigiously.

Secondly, I just want to know what are your relations with the Golden Horde. I've saw what happened in the treaty of Samara. If we don't act quickly, that could become very dangourous for us, Khans of the Mongolian Empire. I personnaly think we should really talk of that.

But now, times missing, and I got to send my new Ulama in Cairo.

I've received your trade proposal and I find it most interesting. After discussing it with our trade partners in Egypt we have been nearly ecstatic over the possibilities.

There will be a council held Damaskus concerning the future of the European trade. Since this is a matter I know interests you closely it would be to our great joy and honour if you would send a representative. It is our wish that the great economical powers of Oman, Al-Agta and the Mamelukes can come to an agreement we may take a stranglehold on the western trade routes. We are aviating your envoy with great anticipation. May God grant you success.

A lonesome Mullah is entering Samarkand. He have traveled all the way from Cairo and is asking to speak with the head Imam of the city.

"Greetings, noble servant to Allah,

I have traveled a long distance to ask you, on behalf of the Caliph, to speak with your Khan about sending an Ulama to Cairo, to represent the fine Timurids. The Caliph feels like the strong voice of the Timurid people would make a very good contribution to the discussions of faith that is being held in Cairo. Matters of importance may come up soon and then the Caliph feels that any discussions without Timurid representation wouldnt be fruitfull."

It is a warm day, almost painfully warm. The sun stand high in the sky and burns the soil, the plants who are without steady watersuply is already starting to die. The Great Khan however doesnt notice this, he is slowly traveling downstream on a river, he and his horse is resting, both have deserved it after the long jurney from Samarkand. The trees close to the river thrives in the rich sunshine and water, apparently the soil here is also very rich but still is sparsley farmed.

The Great Khan notes to himself that he must speak with the people of Isfahan, give them some offer so that they will move out here. Usage of these plains could proove to not only improve the economy of hte Al-Agta Khanate but also the standards of living. It is Hytshtej's firm velif that the less people who are jammed into the crowded cities the better.

After a few more hours on the boat the Great Khan catches his first glimpse of the great city of Isfahan, a city which soon will be the center of the entire Moslem worlds attention.

The first thing the Great Khan notices is the massive walls around the city, those must be able to withstand a long siege, but more importanly; be able to hold out unwanted ears.

After a while longer on the boat the Great Khan sees the many high towers and pillars inside the walls, they are indicating a most spectacular city indeed, and even if the Great Khan thinks it is an awful waste of good money he is also glad that the city might be impressing to the other men who will visit the city soon.

Two hours later the Great Khan can truely see what a huge and marvelous this city is, form the inside, the guards was suprised that Hytshtej came this soon but they managed to hold a small welcome parade, nothing which could impress Hytshtej who have read stories about Dsaluu Jambyns massive armies of many thousand soldiers.

When he finaly have made his way to the old court of the Persian Empire he enters the large building and is suprised to find that the walls are covered in paintings and sculptures from the time of the legendary Alexander of Macedonia. The motives are usually of brave soldiers clashing in fierce hand to hand combat, indeed it is painting to his Hytshtejs likeing.

When Hytshtej finnaly arrives in the main courtroom he is saddened to only find a few men in the large room, due to the lack of important forigners he imidiatly moves to Agha Bugu and asks him to proclaim the Cuncil forever opened, never to be closed again!

A tall man, flanked by guards wearing the standard of the Mamelukes, enters the Great Halls in Isfahan, where the council is to be held.

"Noble and most honorable Khan of the Timurids,

I am Zakarya al-Bakr, an humble servant to the Sultan of Egypt. I have been send here to act as his and Egypts representative in the council that will be held. With me I also bring gifts to show my and my masters gratitude for your hospitality."

The Aghakhan and Agha Bugu are involved in a deep discussion when Zakarya al-Bakr enters

Aghakhan - It is of outmost importance that we can gain the support of the Shia lands which form our nighbours. Have you heard of the 'Holy Roman Empire' it alone could stomple all mongols in the world.

Agha Bugu - True, the christians hold great power in their realms, but is it really wise to turn to an anchient foe to fight another foe? Haven't you heard what happened to the Hedjaz when they tried to gain the friendship of the Shia?

Aghakhan - I am suprised the Mamelukes did not attack sooner, the Hedjaz did not hold any value except as taxpayers, and perhapps as a nice name on the map for religious fanatics. It will be other now, the Shia have new leaders, trustworthy leaders, and the Al-Agta khanate have more to offer then tax money.

Agha Bugu - I hope you are right, i trust so so I will support you, but with dubt.

Aghakhan - how can you dubt the Shia? We are now in a city which is almost only shia. Our trusted friends Xoni Khan and Azirga Khan are both Shia like most peasants in this realm. I do not undestand how you can not trust the Shia.

Agha Bugu - I see that we have visitors, and fine visitors indeed.

Aghakhan - Yes, a honorable mameluke! welcome, i am most delighted to have you in my fine realm. I belive you are the first representant to arrive so you are free to choose housing and such.

Agha Bugu - Yes we have prepared a numerous estates in the city in which the honoured representatives can live.

A small contigent of men, the flag of the Ottoman Empire flying high above them. They wait patiently outside the city wall until they are welcomed in and shown the way to the Khan.
The leader of the party steps forward, places a box to the feet of the Khan and speaks.

"Great Khan,

I am Suleiman Kueli, and I was sent here by the Grand Vezier of the Ottoman Empire to attend the council of Isfahan on behalf of my nation and people.

I thank you for your hospitality, and would like to give you these fine salted fish as a present. They are picked throughout the Empire, and carefully chosen for their taste. I hope that you will like them."

The man bows and retreats, visibly tired from the long journey.

Since Agha Bugu is walking around and getting familiar to the newly arrived mameluke sendsman The Aghakhan walks up to Suleiman Kueli and greets him.

"Greetings old man, it is most pleasant to have you here. We will begin discussions in just a few days, untill then please explore this beautiful city, I have myself never been here before, perhaps you could join me and explore the anchient temple district, i have heard that there are temples still standing form the time of Xerxes."

The Khan of Astrakhan, Nurgai Khan, arrives in Isfahan on horseback to represent The Golden Horde at The Isfahan Council.

"Greetings, I have come in Baraq Khan's absence to represent The Golden Horde. I am sorry, but his duties as Great Khan of The The Golden Horde and Siberia have forced him to remain in Astrakhan. He sends his apologies. I serve under him as Great Khan of Astrakhan, my name is Nurgai Khan. Now let us unite The East, so that we may smite The West!"

The aghakhan enter the court from his traveling of the city, to his sadness he wasnt able to convince anyone that xerxes had boult any of the great temples, apparently these representatives knew more then he thought, and this fill him with pride, apparently the monarches have sent thie best men!
The Aghakhan sees that a new face have arrived, he quickly asks one of his servants who identifies him as Nurgai Khan, the representative of the Golden Horde

Nurgai Khan! Welcome!
Eveyone, attention, most men have arrived now and therefore we will begin discussion this very evning around dinner!

When dinner is served all representatives are seated. After just a few minutes of eting and socializing the Aghakhan takes to words

It fills my hearth with neverending joy to see so many influential men gathered here already, hopefully Oman will join us soon aswell.

Well, the goal of this cuncil is mainly to bring us Moslems together so that we can stop the tragic war which the Golden Horde recently faced form hapening again. To achieve this we must not only streangthen out individual lands, we must also rise above our differences and work together in our strife for a shared vision, a world in which all prey to the one god, Allah.

The moslem realms create all the food we need, all iron, all horses, all wood, all copper, all wool and all cloth, we have nothing to gain from trading with the heathen Christians.

It is true that the christians also produce most of the good they need for themselves, but we hold a thriumph card; the luxery goods, europe crave silk, incense, chinaware and spice trades which we all utterly controll.

We must use this advantage and make the europeans pay dearly for all their luxery wares but i do not propose that we do this now. Since if we do that now, when we are not united we will just anger the Christians and perhaps bring a crusade upon ourselves. A crusade which we will stand defenceless. We must begin to work for a united Moslem world, and the first step is to earn eachothers trust.

True, just for you all to come here is a great step which will promote understanding and cooperation. But I also propose that all moslem realms should open their borders to pilgrimages from the other involved states. Let the way to mecca be open for the masses, just as all other roads to all other holy cities in the world!

Nurgai rises forth to speak.

"Aghakan, what are your thoughts on the recent actions of The Caliph? He is holding a similar council which reprsentatives of our realms are also attending. I have heard that very important desicions are being made to strengthen Islam. Perhaps both our councils could perform our duties more efficiently if we both know of the other's actions. I propose that contacts between both our councils should be made."

He goes to sit, but remembers something else and walks over to whisper something in The Aghakan's ear

The aghakhan get a confused look in his eyes. He sits and thinks a short while before the whipsers something back into Nugai Khan, after that he speaks up loudly

Yes, it would be most thankfull if the Caliph himself could honor this meeting, perhaps even send a representant. Howwever it is not vital, he discuss matther of religion, philosofy and ideals, we are supposed to discuss actual actions, wars, trade and foremost peace!

The representative of the Il-Khanate looks, shocked, to the Golden Horde Elci.

What are you trying to do, here? Dismantle the Al-Agta relations with the Caliph? What are you interested for to try like that.

I must tell you that, for my Khanante, the Golden Horde has been surprisignly inactive in the Caliphate matters in over a year now, and that my mesengers tells my that you Elci to the Caliph has just arrive. Therefore, I humbly ask you to reconsider your question. and to accept the two councils as two different matters.
