For God, The King and Saint George! **OOC Thread**
Dear All -
Please feel free to post any comments, questions or suggestions related to the main 'For God, The King and Saint George!' AAR in this thread, rather than posting them in the main AAR. As I've explained, I'd like to keep the main AAR a narrative-only thread. So, all feedback in this thread, please, and I'll be happy to respond with feedback-feedback as often as I can.

What are your plans for the HYW? Are you going to go for annexing France <stupid question>

It gives me great pleasure to wheel out the old standard reply (it's a tradition, or an old charter, or something...)
You'll have to wait and see.

My God, I'm soooooooo excited!!! I want to post in there but am afraid of two things....
1. Posting too early as such a small and insignificant part of the empire. 2. Living up to the gifted, talented and weird (yes, I mean Barkdreg) collection of induviduals which made Ariel's EU England AAR so enjoyable. I think I'll just sit in a corner and watch for a little while.....

Fb-Fb (I've missed this
)Thames - Re: 1490. D'oh! That's what happens when you start typing an intro to a new AAR at 6:30 in the a.m. - I've corrected it for the sake of the narrative, but thanks for the spot... Duritz - Feel free to come on out of that corner whenever you feel ready - there's no right and wrong way to post, as long as it's in character and relevant to the narrative... Norvesgenn - Please do. In character, naturally...

An England AAR - cool! Personally, I think that most good AARs are made by people who know the RW history of the nation they´re playing and then goes off in a different direction.
I have the feeling you´ll probably end up annexing France (easy to do as a human player staring in 1419) so maybe you should think about installing the EEP 1.0 (Extended Event Project) which contains a lot of extra Events for England some of which are "What ifs" based on English anneaxation of France. In any case, looking forward to the AAR and maybe to contribute in the narrative as some crafty merchant or whatnot. Cheers, Vandelay |

Conversation overheard in the Manchester, UK branch of Game, less than one hour ago:
Shop Assistant {helpfully}: Hello, can I help? Ariel {eagerly, wiping drool from his chin}: I'd like this, please. Shop Assistant {breezily}: Certainly. Oh, wait a minute, I'll have to get this sent up from the stock room. {picks up mobile phone and dials...} Shop Assistant {loudly}: Hello? Yes, I need a game please. PC Title. It's, erm... {peers at the box cover and squints a bit} Euro... Europa something. Universal. Yeah. Ariel {helpfully}: Um.. it's Universalis Shop Assistant {still on phone, bemusedly}: Eh? Oh, two. What? No, it's not that. No... not Ultima. Not Ultima Online. Europa Uni... oh, you've got it? Shop Assistant {to Ariel, cheerily}: He's got it. He's bringing it up. Ariel {breathing a sigh of relief}: Oh. Thank you. Shop Assistant {curiously}: So, is it any good then? Ariel {reverently}: Oh, yes... Here we go, here we go, here we go!

Damn you all! I'm not going to get my copy until Monday at the earliest. I still may pop down to the local games shop to touch a copy although I'll probably get thrown out after ten minutes of such behaviour.
OK, First post is up. Tell me if you think the fake Shakespearian style is a too cheesy. |

Barkdreg: Um... A chocolate tea-pot? A Ford Ka? A subscription to Gardener's Weekly? Something equally pointless? No, go on, you'll have to tell me...
![]() Lionheart: Monday? MONDAY? Where do you live, Beirut? First post is spot-on by the way. Nice going there. Rictus: Fair's fair, I didn't say he was moronic, just... under-educated...

Conversation overheard in a Belgian shop.
A huge heavily muscled man towers above a frightened shop assistant: I'd like to buy this copy of Europa Universalis II. Frightened shop assistant nearly faints because of Barkdreg's fetid breath: Yes, sir. And how would you like to pay? A hamsized hand slams a creditcard on the register: Will this do? The shop assistant scans the card and Barkdreg types his secret code (1503). The little machine bleeps. I'm sorry sir, your card has been refused. Whaaaaaaaat! It appears their is no money on your account. Enraged Barkdreg trashes the store and severly hurts the shop assitant. In short, I don't have EU2. I didn't have enough money to pay for it

Well, Barkdreg! That really adds insult to injury: Umpteen months of waiting, and on the day of its release, you're broke.
![]() You have my utmost sympathy.

[A conversation overheard in the airport of Vilnius, very late February. A plane has just landed, and people are going out]
Legolas (to his friend, who just arrived): Do you have it? Friend: w-what?] Legolas: EU2, what other? Friend: Oh yes, I have it somewhere... Wait a little, when we get out of the airport... I'll give it to you tomorrow. Legolas: give. it. to. me. NOW. Friend: But... I am not sure where it is! Look at my bagage! Legolas: It does not matter. What matters is your life, and it is in danger now. Friend: Ok ok... (after a few mins of desperate search) Friend: Here you are. Legolas: finally! Great God! Thank you!!! Friend: yes, well, I'm glad that you're happy, and so on, and so forth, but can we now proceed to the exit? Legolas: I have it! I do! Wow! (Legolas runs out of the airport, takes the first taxi to his home, and immediately is out of the RL)
